If you want to give your kids a truly amazing gift this Christmas, why not take them on the ultimate holiday? A trip to Lapland in Finland is a holiday they will never forget, filled with snow, magic and their favourite Christmas characters: Santa, his elves and the reindeer of course!

Being specialist agents for Lapland Holidays, we have explored the market to guarantee all of the trips we recommend are with trustworthy, non-mass-market companies. They also include a private meeting with Santa Claus, children’s letter to Santa, a gift and some snow-based activities, as a minimum.

If you’re looking for a 5 day trip to Lapland, then this is what a typical itinerary can look like:

*It’s important to note that while some activities such as snowmobile ride, husky experience, or reindeer sleigh ride are included, you might also wish to book some extra activities that are locally available.

First Day:

Fly to Lapland. The flight usually takes 3 and half hours and you can choose to depart from multiple airports from the United Kingdom, including London, Manchester or Glasgow. The special charters usually depart mid-morning. On your arrival to the hotel, you will receive thermal outer suits and boots, but make sure you wear layered clothing, as it’s the best way to keep in control of your body temperature. Once you’ve been transferred to your accommodation, you will meet your rep and ask them any questions you might have. You can either book an activity for the evening or just enjoy some time playing in the snow.

Second Day:

You will start your day with a delicious breakfast and then enjoy one of the included morning activities. After lunch, you have the rest of the day to toboggan, play in the snow or go for an optional extra activity. You can choose from reindeer or husky sleigh rides to other locally specific activities. Make sure you keep an eye out for Santa as you move around.

Third Day:

After another fun, included activity in the morning, the search for Father Christmas continues! This is probably the most anticipated activity for the little ones. But rest assured, as every family will have their own private meeting with Santa in his wooden lodge.

Fourth Day:

You can spend the morning having some family snow fun or you can opt to go on one of the optional trips. Perhaps you would like to try your hand at ice-fishing or why not drive your own reindeer on a camp excursion? After a tasty dinner, we recommend the safari activity, where you’ll get the chance to see the beautiful Northern Lights.

Fifth Day:

Have fun on the last of your taster activities or try an extra activity in the morning. You’ll have quick lunch and then you’ll have your flight home to tell your family and friends about your incredible adventure in Santa’s hometown.
