The Area
Five minutes from the local fishing village of Savelletri. It is an ideal base to explore the entire Puglian region from Lecce's unique baroque architecture to the UNESCO World heritage town of Alberobello, famous for the traditional trulli's. See our review for more details, go >>
The resort is separated from the coast by the superb San Domenico golf course but a short walk or a shuttle will take you to the beach clubs. Riding is available nearby.
One of the main attractions of the area is the culture of Puglia and a hire car is the perfect way to visit all of the local attractions and with Puglia being the driest part of mainland Italy it has the longest season for good weather. The builders of the resort took such a long time to complete it because each part was hand crafted by local artisans to create a truly authentic appearance.
What will the weather be like...
Expect a typical Mediterranean climate with hot, mostly dry summers with average temperatures of 29 degrees C in July and August and 26 in June and September. The shoulder months of May and October have lovely temperatures in the low 20's with some occassional rain.
The good news is that Puglia, situated on the Eastern coast of Italy is drier than the Western coast and with an average of 10-12 hours sunshine in June, July and August and 7-9 hours in May, September and October, the weather should be glorious.
