Honeymoon Ideas with a Baby

Verdura Resort, Sicily

This hotel is a gem and well rehearsed in creating special moments. I particularly loved the grand suites with two luxuriously appointed rooms, a handy kitchenette, an unusual bath tub with views of a lemon tree. There is so much space too with a private enclosed inner courtyard with a comfy daybed whilst the large terrace with sunbeds and even a hammock opens on to large garden area leading to the beach. The sunset is magnificent! Don't worry if you want a more modest room, the decor is the same and all enjoy the same view and sunsets!

The resort is perfect for babies with babysitting and a daytime crèche payable by the hour - you can go in to so you can settle them or just use it as an excellent play facility. The estate is flat so pushchair friendly and its size means plenty of space to walk too.

For you and your new hubby or wife of course there are also all the sports but the spa is great and offers double treatment rooms, there are some romantic dining options and walks around the vast estate.

If you like to get out and about then Sicily is rich in culture - both people and ruins. There is a wine-tasting lunch at a local family-run vineyard, 'mama' style dining in a typical restaurant in a mountain village or stroll around the harbour town of Sciacca.

A top 5 star - not cheap but for me, worth the cost.

Carlisle Bay, Antigua

The flight is obviously longer than a Mediterranean destiantion but well worth the effort. This luxury hotel combines its superb location on the most picturesque white sandy beach with excellent service, great facilities and a welcome for young children found in few other hotels that make it a top choice for a honeymoon with the kids, nowadays commonly known as a Familymoon. 

Allowing families only into the Beach Suites keeps a lid on the number of kids so whilst there are enough for you to feel family concious there are not too many to make if feel more like a nursery than a 5 star hotel. The Beach Suites which are gournd floor with 2 separate rooms are just perfet as they open out almost directly onto the beach making afternoons and evenings on the terrace a pleasure. 

The creche is purpose built and an excellent facility. A small boutique hotel with just 82 Suites it truly is a perfect honeymoon hotel with a baby in tow.

Domes of Elounda, Crete

All luxurious boutique hotel offering secluded suites and villas and for me the most amazing views over the glittering Mirabello Bay and on to the famous Island of Spinalonga, a fortress and former Leper colony famed in the book ‘Small Island’.
