The area...
The peninsula's rugged mountains which rise up to 2,100 meters above the coast with their spectacular fjord-like look protect Zighy Bay from the outside world. Take a drive or hike up as far as you can go and you will be amazed at the absolute peace and quiet and stunning views.
Until 30 years ago, the Musandam belonged to the Shihuh tribes who lived in scattered villages between the peaks, now an Omani enclave in UAE the only real inhabitants are lone Pakistani goatherds. As such any activities are linked to the hotel and its suppliers.
There is way more to the resort than lying by the beach though and there is a vast programme of well thought out activities from yoga to Arabic cooking to paragliding, boat trips and 4x4 tours.
What will the weather be like...
Oman like Dubai sees temperatures soaring in summer and from May - September the heat can get unbearable. You can expect a daily average of 34-41 degrees Celsius with the night time temperatures offering little relief at this time.
Easter and October are popular times to go - it will be hot - low 30's during the day with plenty of sunshine.
November to March is probably the best time to visit when the weather is pleasant, usually mid 20's with comfortable evenings. It is possible that there can be a couple of cooler days or unseasonably hot days and some rainfall can fall in any of these months but it is generally very little.
