The area...
The largest of the Canary Islands there is far more diversity than you might expect: historical, cultural, nature, sporty or just plain holiday fun, nothing is too far away and most are family friendly.
For sheer fun, very close by you have Siam Park, a fabulous outside waterpark, suitable for tots to teens which is impressive even if it is not for you in the UK.
A little further afield is Loro Park, a fabulous day out, with the knowledge that it is not just another theme park but also a conservation based organisation and foundation, it is well worth a visit. Entertaining attractions include a Sea-Lion show, Dolphin show, Penguinarium with a reproduction Antarctic climate – a stunning exhibit.
There are plenty of watersports although these are not arranged from the beach directly in front of the hotel (it is a protected area and blissfully no motorised watersports are allowed in that strectch of water). You do not have to travel far though to find windsurfing, scuba diving, sailing, water skiing and many more. Whale and dolphin watching has become a popular activity in Tenerife too.
There is a cable car that takes you almost to the top of Mount Teide where you can enjoy a drink admiring the sweeping views on a clear day.
Of course there are many sports facitlies too - numerous golf courses, tennis...
What will the weather be like...
When it comes to sunshine, the Canary Islands are perfect with an eternal spring-summer climate. They’re a year-round destination; you can pretty much take your pick of when to go.
The winter months – December to March – are cooler but still paradise compared any other short haul destination. You can expect average daytime temperatures to hover in the low 20’s dropping to a mild 14 degrees on average overnight and with 6 hours sunshine per day through all these months. It does rain occasionally especially in December and January.
The summer months – April to October are deceptive as give how warm the winter is, they are surprisingly mild. Almost perfect with a daily average of 27 degrees dropping to a comfortable 20 at night, virtually no rainfall and 10 hours sunshine a day, any of the summer months are good. There is a chance of a few very hot days.
Located in the South of the island, it is more sheltered than in the North.
