The winter holiday season is now behind us and the time has come to get the family holiday organised and take advantage of all the good early booking offers out there.

Can’t decide where to go on your next family holiday? Here are some of our favourite destinations and our recommended places to stay.

  1. Spain

This is a country we just can’t get enough of! And it’s really easy to understand why. It’s a short flight away so it’s great for travelling with children, the beaches are beautiful, the weather is excellent almost all year-round and the people are lovely! We especially like the Canary Islands, as they offer great value for money and resorts are designed with families in mind.

Where to stay: Princesa Yaiza Resort, Lanzarote

This luxurious resort offers excellent children’s facilities, it has a long beachfront promenade and shops are only a 20-minute walk away. Book by the end of January and get 20% off.

 2. Cyprus

Just a slightly longer flight away (around 4 hours) you will find this stunning location, surrounded by pristine beaches and clear blue waters. As the third largest island in the Mediterranean, Cyprus has plenty to offer for a family holiday: the Troodos Mountains, charming villages, golf and of course its stunning coastline and beaches. A traditional island that has embraced a modern lifestyle.

The family-oriented Olympic Lagoon Resort boasts “a world of leisure”. It provides a great variety of family-friendly activities, entertainment and accommodation.

3. Mexico

If you’re looking for a holiday outside Europe, then Mexico has plenty to offer families. It boasts fantastic beaches with pure whites sands, combined with adventure for all the family. Play at being Indiana Jones: the Mayan sites of Tulum or Chichen Itza are ideal for even the most museum phobic children. All the family will love climbing the 91 steps up the pyramid and there is plenty of space to wander freely.

Where to stay: Club Med Yucatan, Cancun

Club Med resort of Cancun Yucatan is perfect for a relaxed or active family holiday, yet close enough to combine trips and explore some of the ancient Mexican sites such as Tulum and Chichen Itza.

4. The Indian Ocean

With so many stunning islands and breath-taking scenery, the Indian Ocean is ideal for families with pre-school children who are not bound to school holidays for travelling. Mauritius, the Maldives and Seychelles are almost always described as paradise on earth. Perfect beaches and crystal clear waters are inviting for snorkelling and swimming with the family. Along with the beach setting the Indian Ocean’s beauty stretches inland with tropical forests and stunning landscapes.

Where to stay: Beachcomber Seychelles Sainte Anne Resort & Spa, Seychelles

5. South Africa

If you have slightly older children that are okay with longer flights (approx. 10 hours), then a beach and safari holiday to South Africa can be your next memorable and unique family holiday. Fly to Johannesburg, go on a safari in search of the big five and enjoy a few days on pristine beaches. Have a look at out website for our suggested itinerary.
