Enquire About Family Holidays At Abama

When do you want to go?

Abama Golf and Spa Resort, Tenerife

The Abama Hotel in Tenerife is perfect for a luxury family holiday with children of all ages. Managed and operated by the world-renowned Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, the ABAMA offers luxurious and well-appointed spacious rooms and suites, each with a private balcony or terrace and, more often than not, a perfect sea view out towards La Gomera.

There are excellent child care facilities with a complimentary (charge for evening club) children’s club for children from 4 years to 12 year olds inclusive and a teens programame. Younger children can access all facilities of the children's club accompanied by a parent or carer - the hotel can provide daytime and evening babysitting at extra charge.

We love all the small touches that are so appreciated by families on holiday: free water in lobby, pools, beach and room, Free WiFI, fruit at pool and beach...

ABAMA is hidden away on Tenerife’s glittering south-western shore and Guia de Isora is one of the island’s best kept secrets: an unspoilt corner but within easy striking distance of attractions ranging from waterparks to Mount Teide. An excellent choice for a luxury family holiday with children of all ages.

All rooms are luxuriously appointed with fitted Oak wardrobes and marble bathrooms with separate shower and bath. Featherbeds (non-allergic available if required) and a pillow menu is standard.

Accommodation is either in the Citadel building which is at the heart of the ABAMA complex between the beach and golf/tennis facilities or the 'villa' buildings which are located in the botanical gardens between the main Citadel building and the beach. The villa rooms are quieter and each row has exclusive use of a pool in nearby gardens.

We especially recommend the interconnecting rooms and 2 bedroom family suites for families.

There is also an 'adult only' accommodation area where the Tagor Villas can be found. We do not feature the prices on our website as children are not allowed but would be happy to provide a quote should these be of interest to some of your party.

The area...

The largest of the Canary Islands there is far more diversity than you might expect: historical, cultural, nature, sporty or just plain holiday fun, nothing is too far away and most are family friendly.

For sheer fun, a short drive away you have Siam Park, a fabulous outside waterpark, suitable for tots to teens which is impressive even if it is not for you in the UK.

A little further afield is Loro Parque, a fabulous day out with the knowledge that it is not just another theme park but also a conservation based organisation and foundation, it is well worth a visit. Entertaining attractions include a Sea-Lion show, Dolphin show, Penguinarium with a reproduction Antarctic climate – a stunning exhibit.

There are plenty of watersports although these are not arranged from the beach directly in front of the hotel (it is a protected area and blissfully no motorised watersports are allowed in that stretch of water). You do not have to travel far though to find windsurfing, scuba diving, sailing, water skiing and many more. Whale and dolphin watching has become a popular activity in Tenerife too.

There is a cable car that takes you almost to the top of Mount Teide where you can enjoy a drink admiring the sweeping views on a clear day.

Of course there are many sports facilities too - numerous golf courses, tennis...
