Gran Canaria has a superb climate for a summer family holiday.
Summer weather starts early in Gran Canaria. The main summer months of June, July, August and September have long sunny days (9-11 hours sunshine), virtually no rainfall and have daytime temperatures of 27-30 degrees although the heat is moderated by refreshing daytime sea breezes. Evenings can be warm, around 20 degrees.
During winter months, Gran Canaria is a popular holiday destination for those looking for winter sun. Average peak temperatures remain at a minimum of 21 degrees, even furing the coolest months of winter: January and February.
